Last Day

Today was the last day in palm springs. I have finished the good parts of Les Miserables, and read the Book of Mormon to get ready for conference.   I had a great time seeing the sights.  We went to the fine art museum. I liked the giraffe.  As I was waiting for lunch a man tried to abscond with me.  He and his friend were there just to golf, and he wanted to take me with him.  I told him I was meeting my husband for lunch, and although I did enjoy golf, I would wait for my husband to go with me.  He decided that was ok, and left.  Bobby came; We ate lunch, and walked around together.  We checked out, and made our flight on time.  I was sooooo excited to get my babies, and be back home all safe and sound.  They are the most beautiful sight in the world.

Swimming and Dodgeball

I had to go out shopping again this morning, but it worked out well.  I got back, had lunch delivered to the room, and read, unwind a little.  The swimming pool was great.  The hot tub too.  I took my Ipad out and read by the pool, swam, and relaxed.

After my long day of enjoyment, I got ready and walked to the convention center to meet up with Bobby. We had a great time at his convention party.  It was the "age of the geek":  food (including a mac and cheese bar), Wii games, pool, ping pong, and even a dodgeball tournament.  They are serious about their programming and their dodgeball.  I've never seen a real dodgeball game with courts, brackets, and referees, big screens to show everyone the latest scores and winners.  We had great conversation with Bobby's friends from a George office.  great time had by all.  It was back to our apartment; Bobby had to work, and I watched some tv.  Last day.  Tomorrow we go home.

Shops, Hat, Dresses, and more

I was up and at 'em early today.  Bobby left for his conference, and I went out on the town.  I found a great place to have breakfast.  It is Jasmine Cafe, a little Croatian place down the street and around the corner.  The nice owner also is the cook.  He made a wonderful Potato roll, wrapped in his home made phyllo type dough, and crispy baked, with yogurt, tomatoes, and onions.  I did pay 3.50 for a glass of hot water with lemon in it, but other than that, it was a unique and wonderful breakfast.

I then walked to the Fine art museum down the ways.  It wasn't open yet, so I talked a little with a group of artists gathered outside.  I do appreciate art, but painting/drawing is not one talent that I possess.  They suggested a coffee shop down the road.

I had brunch at a great little place filled with people outside in the atrium areas.  I enjoyed observing, and the french toast was great, but the fruit (strawberries, blue berries, and raspberries) were phenomenal, but the service was extremely slow, and inattentive.  There were people that left because they had to sit so long.  One man went to the front and put his order in at the counter.  I also had to find someone to pay before I left.  But, they did have a beautiful lawn area, and a great statue of Don Q.

I walked up and down streets, looked them over with care, to some I said, "I don't choose to go there".  With no hat on my head, and in need of a dress, I browsed all the shops, and I did my best.  But, the price was too high, and I moved on, to have lunch in my room and rest.

After lunch and a rest, I went back out to the shops.  The boutique owners know my name by now, and I bought sunglasses, a hat, and a purple dress with gold "foil" like etching in it.  I plan on wearing it tomorrow with my swimming suit.  It was a long day of walking, and I enjoyed it immensely.

At dinner time, we went out to a Tai place down the street with some of Bobby's co-workers.  I had a great time, and enjoyed the conversation, and company.  It was a wonderful night.

Palm Springs, California Day 1

All's well that ends well.  I finally got to Palm Springs, California.  I met a great lady, Julie, while waiting for my flight.  We had a great time moving from gate to gate, and listening intently to see if our name was called form the waiting list.  We had lunch, and talked about all things that could save the world and make it a better place.  It was fun.  I finally made a flight, and sat next to some men going to the same conference as Bobby.

When I arrived, the airport was so adorable.  great art, beautiful flowers, perfect weather all rolled into one little airport.  I saw a road runner, and was picked up in a great car, carried to my hotel and ushered to my wonderful room.  The living area is large and has a lounging space with a large TV.  the bedroom has a VERY comfortable bed, and VERY comfortable pillows.

I waited for Bobby to get here, and explored the hotel for awhile.  We dressed for dinner, and went to a great little place, Tropical, and enjoyed the outside ambience.  As it got a little chilly, they brought out more warmers, and had loungers, and candlelight.  Happy Anniversary Vacation to us.  They even brought out a little cupcake with a candle to help us along in our celebration.  It was beautiful, and fun.  Thanks to my wonderful husband for doing this for me.

The view is beautiful.  I'm going to check out the pool, explore the shops, and eating establishments.

Run Forest Run

We were late, and missed our flight.  It's ok because we were arriving really early, and wouldn't be able to check into our hotel for hours, so now we will be able to check right in, but Bobby will have to hurry to check into his conference.  Here we wait, which is much better than running from the farthest parking space, in the last parking lot, in the end rows in economy outdoor parking.  I don't run very fast anyway, so you should have seen me go!!!  I wore my unhappy face the whole way,  but now I'm doing much better.

I miss my children.  I cried and cried when I left them last night, but Beverly sent me pictures of them sleeping soundly, and not screaming for me to come back.  Just love to be with my little ones.
